We are thrilled to see Chardonnay making such a positive come-back in the UK wine trade, and it’s hardly surprising with wines like this one coming through, with its steely directness and fruit purity. A very healthy dollop of proper varietal character – a touch of tropical fruits underscored by ripe limes – mean this could not be any other grape, and it is completely unoaked so takes no prisoners with its lovely, vertical acidity. Pale straw in colour, dry and zesty in the mouth but pleasantly broad and soft without being creamy. Definitely the way forward for mid-price Chardonnay.
