This is one of the most varietally pure and true, best value Cabernets we have ever tasted from Argentina. From old vines grown at the famous Finca Libertad on the Upper Mendoza Riverbed, on nutrient deficient soils dominated by stones at 850 MASL, this is relatively ‘low’ altitude by today’s Mendoza reckoning. And perhaps that partly explains the wine’s tremendous opulence and concentration; that and the old vines of course. Lovely ‘sweet’ blackcurrant aromas mingle with a touch of toasty oak and a hint of eucalyptus in this gentle Cab, cradled by fine, ripe tannins in the mouth.
