Mendoza might not be a natural go-to location for impressive traditional-method sparkling wines, but if you are not yet familiar with how good the wines can be, this is an excellent place to start. A classic blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, made by Atamisque winemaker, Philipe Caraguel, in truly tiny quantities and 100% by hand at every stage. The nose offers a lovely hit of toasted brioche with ripe lime and green apple notes ; the texture is sublime with a delicate mousse and a lively streak of zesty acidity cutting through the supple, ripe, appley fruit that coats the mouth. Delicious, and superb value for money.
