Las Estelas

This simply outstanding wine speaks volumes of Estela’s winemaking philosophy as we understand it – seamless integration from start to finish, the creation of something greater than the sum of its parts. To this end – and we love this! – it is challenging to identify individual varietals playing solo parts. This is surely a nod to the huge respect that Estela has for the great red wines of Bordeaux, and a top example of her superb blending skills.

50% Malbec, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc grown on loamy-stony soils at Finca Mangato, the wine is fermented in used 500 litre barrels and is aged for 16 months – 50% in new French oak, 50% in second use barrels. Something of a masterpiece from a winemaker who has immense experience and is making a bold statement with her own project. Outstanding concentration combined with an elegant, delightful delivery on the palate.
