Fantasia Cabernet Franc 2021

Mauricio Lorca

In our humble opinion, Mauricio Lorca is one of the best producers of mid-price single varietal wines in Mendoza. This superb addition to the Fantasia range brings all the typicity and fruit purity that we expect from such a great winemaker, and it has the bonus of being made from one of our favourite grapes, Cabernet Franc. We need wines like this to spread the good word about Argentine Cab Franc and this really delivers with it’s delicious sour cherry and juicy strawberry flavours.

“Elegant and inviting aromas of blackberry, violets and dried herbs. The palate imparts a zesty freshness, with refined tannins that are sustained through to a pleasing finish.”

A great value wine that demonstrates the increasing success Argentina is having with varietal Cabernet Franc. Lorca vineyards are in Vista Flores at 1050 metres, ensuring great ripeness and perfume in the inky, boysenberry and violet fruit which is left to shine, as only 30% of the wine was aged in oak, for just six months.
