This sublime, age-worthy blend from Mauricio Lorca combines 70% Malbec, 20% Syrah and 10% Petit Verdot. Each varietal is vinified separately in small concrete tanks to preserve the identity of its unique, single vineyard origin. Alcoholic fermentation lasts 10 days at controlled temperatures between 24–26 °C, with gentle pump-overs to ensure precise extraction of colour and tannins. After malolactic fermentation, the components are carefully blended, and the wine is aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. The goal is to achieve the perfect balance between fruit and structure, where the oak complements rather than dominates. Clarification and filtration are kept to a bare minimum, preserving the wine’s purity and aromatic expression. Once again Mauricio’s great blending skills demonstrate that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts in a wine that is both strictly terroir-driven and international in its outlook.
