Mendoza Province boasts one of the highest densities of volcanoes in the world. There are more than 800 volcanic cones in La Payunia Provincial Reserve alone. It is this wild and daunting environment that inspired Mil Volcanes’ co-founders and owners, brother and sister team Nicolás and Silvina Santi, to pursue their dream to create a powerful and seductive expression of Mendoza’s vast and varied vinous landscape.
The winery is situated in one of the great, original areas of the Mendoza wine scene in Vistalba, in the Zona Primera. They have vineyards not far from here in Alto Agrelo at around 1,000 metres above sea level. Crucially, however, they also have vines at higher altitudes in Los Sauces and Vista Flores – key top-quality areas in the Uco Valley.
The wines draw upon these three distinct terroirs to simultaneously harness power and concentration in harmony with purity, elegance and freshness in style. These are wines from the heart, celebrating Nature and heritage with a youthful spirit.
