Ulula Sauvignon Blanc 2024

Esteban Martin

This delightful little Sauvignon Blanc comes to us as the result of three single varietal fermentations by our friends at Esteban Martin. They toured three experimental wines around the trade routes of Europe garnering opinion. Sauvignon Blanc was the clear winner. It’s not a grape variety one might expect from this warm part of Spain where Garnacha reigns supreme, but they make no bones about early picking, and they have managed to craft a great little wine that serves as an ideal antidote to Kiwi juice (no disrespect intended). If anything, this is more akin to brilliant value Touraine Sauvignon, with it’s lean and lithe profile, subtle flinty / mineral character and zesty citrus fruit. The wine is also organic, just not certified as such yet.
