Made from grapes planted in 1935 by the Benegas family on the Finca Libertad estate in Maipú, this might be an oddity but it certainly isn’t a gimmick. Deep garnet in colour and a bold expression of the grape in pretty much every respect. Lots of wild red fruits, hints of cocoa and vanilla on the nose; firmly structured with a rich red fruit mid palate and excellent length. Comparisons with Italy are inevitable but ultimately pointless; this is proudly Argentine.
